Happy New Year

My first post for this year.
I hope you all had a great time.
2012 was a great year and 2013 is going to be at least just as good if
Not even better. Just because I said so.
The Quilt I'm going to show you know has been just in the nick of time finished in 2012, not that you think I'm super fast.
I just did not had the time to post because I had the house full with family and friends. Had a great time with my darling grand son.
Scrappy Chain Reaction
Its my version of the chain reaction. My scrappy chain reaction. Yeah.
close up from the quilting

The pattern is from Lee Heinrich and it was in the Quiltmakers Magazine March/ April 12.
But just recently, Lee posted on her Blog Freshly Pieced that she sell's the pattern as PDF file. So if you are interested go check it out.
I liked the pattern very much. It was a pretty quick Quilt and I know I'm going to do this one again in some dark fabric's.
and than one more pic. Its from my sweet DIL.
She needed a B-day Present for her SIL and wanted to sew a bag. So she finished it today and here it is.

My son made me very happy when he got married to her. Im so lucky.

Mystery Quilt

A few weeks ago I started to work on a mystery.
The mystery was a present to a Germany forum from a lady that had a milestone Birthday.
I thought it was a great way to celebrate. Every Sunday we got a part of the mystery.
First Sunday we got told to cut 221 squares of fabric
and to sew 12 x a 16 patch at random
Cutting so many scraps already was a challenge. I took the scraps as they came out of the scrap box. Lol
Second Sunday we got told to cut the 16 patch twice vertical and twice horizontal and to remove the middle that just got cut and to save it for later.
Also to sew the corner blocks that been left into a 4 patch.
For the bigger version you where supposed to cut some more pieces.
(I sure wanted the bigger version so off I went to cut more fabric)
3rd Sunday we got two choices of sewing the to top together.
My fabric was so wild looking I took the even looking pattern. Lol
and thats how it looks finished.
It turned out to be a very wild scrappy Quilt. I hope the person that will receive that quilt (it went as a donation Quilt) loves all the different fabric. The finished Quilt is about 55" x 72".

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
especially the coming thru group at the FoQ. I sure wish I could be there.

a new bag

a peek inside
Yes a new Bag. I wanted a small bag but not to small to take with me to the FoQ.
So I bought this pattern from Homepatchwork and got to work. Its a small back pack and it turned out great.
The fabric for the bag I got last year at the FoQ.

But now, since its finished, I do not know if its what I want to take along. Oh well, I guess I still have time to consider and make a different one. Lol.
I also finished quilting two Quilt from the Kellerquilter.

This Quilt is called "Black is beautiful" and the top was done by Jana.

This Quilt is called " is music inside" and the top was done by Nachteule61.
I tried to quilt some music notes and had a lot of fun by trying.

Ok, that's it what I'm been up to and the month is not even up. I'm getting better in posting.
