Free Motion Challenge - January

I have taken the pledge at Sewcalgal.
She has a free motion quilting challenge going, you should go and check it out.
This month lesson was from Frances Moore. She showed us in a video clip how to quilt leafs.
She made it look so easy.  Big Thanks to her.

She wanted us to draw it on paper first. So here it goes, the drawing and my practice piece.

12" sample Block

Here is my first sample, I used a 12” square to try my quilting.
Green Aurofil thread on black fabric.
I’m quilting with a Janome MC 6500 and used a Topstitch needle size 90.

It’s far from being perfect. But I enjoyed the pattern and looking forward for the next challenge.

  1. Great Kerstin. I didn't hear her say to draw it on paper first. Have just made some quilt sandwiches so that I can start doing mine.

  2. Hi Kerstin,
I have to get over there and start mine, I shall get a pile of 'sandwiches' made up ready I think, then I should be able to crack on with them as they appear. This is great.
