The quilt before I go back to work. It be a close call.

I'm still hand sewing the binding down. I might get it done.

Last day of the month and the year and a give away

Wow, the year is almost over.

But before it is, I want to post the last give away for my monthly give away of 2013

 

I choose a yard of fabric and a pattern

 

So all you have to do to win this, is to leave me a comment until next Saturday the 4th January 2014.

And now about the process of my newest scrap quilt

Plenty of pomegranates.

I sewed all the blocks together and added the border.

 

I'm pretty sure to say this will be my first finish in 2014. Lol

I hope to get if finished quilting before I have to go back to work

Next Monday.

 

When I look back on 2013 I did not had to many finishes.

But a lot of started projects.

I hope 2014 will be better. I guess all I would have to do is finish

All my UFOs in order to do that.

 

Than there is one more thing I want to show you.

Sunday I went to my sewing bee with the girls.

It was such I nice day and again I started something that is

Not quite finish. Lol A back pack. More about that in 2014

 

But every year for Christmas we draw a name and for that person we

Have to get a Christmas gift and we exchanged gifts on Sunday.

I want to show you what I got.

A beautiful tin box filled with goodies. 

 

Thread, some batik fabric, cam snaps and some tea. Isn't beautiful?.

not much sewing going on. I leave in the mornings to work in the dark and when I get home its turning dark also. It seams with the light goes my energy. Is anybody else feeling like that?.
I finished a Baby Quilt for my Sons friends new baby. His name is Joris. But the picture did not come out so good, once the daylight goes and I have to turn on the lights the pictures dont turn out that good.Things getting old around here. lol Time for a better camera. lol

Happy Halloween and a give away

 

Today a two of the girls and I meet to make another Sewing house for a friend.

We got it almost done. The Binding still has to be hand stitched

Its a wild looking house just like the person who get it.

 

 

 

And now about the give away.

So here we are, already in the month of October.

Time is flying. We are back from our wonderful vacation,

We had such a good time and seen so many things.

I sure loved the east coast. Never been there before but we

Sure will be back there.

Whale watching was a awesome experience. To see those huge animals right next to the boat.

I felt so insignificant. Something I will never forget.

 

And of course I needed to stop at Keep sake quilting. What

A treat.

 

But this place was so huge with so much fabric I had a

Very hard time choosing fabric. Plus the small baggage allowance of 50 pounds

Or 23 kg. That is hardly nothing and I already bought a lot of cloth for the grand child.

Got him his first pair of Levis. Lol.

Last Day of September / Give away

well I hope this works and this is showing up on the last day of Sep.

First I went with Lisa searching. She did good again. She dragged me through the woods and even a small stream ( even so I found out, she did not had to. Lol )

I never got to see the mine Anna. We just been in the woods close to it.

But I seen a beautiful wall made out of rocks. On the first look I thought it been logs of wood. But wrong, just rocks.

Last day of August is here

 

Boy the time is flying. The last day of August is here already. 

 

I think since I announced that I will have a give away every last day of the month for this year, the time is going by in lighting speed. lol

 

But before I get to the give away I want to tell you about my day.

I started a men trailing class with my dog Lisa. We have a great time doing it.

She is really doing good. Finds the victim every time. Of course the victim has a snack for her when she finds him.lol

But the real fun is all the different place we go. Every week is a different place in the woods. The last few times I always thought - I need to bring the camera - but then I always forget. Today I remembered to bring one, it was such a nice location too.

Its called Burg Phillipstein. Its a tower that got build in 1390

A beautiful place. So I took a few pictures before class started so I can show you.

 

Next week we are at a place called Grube Anna. So I'm looking forward to that and hope I wont forget the camera. Its amazing all those places so close to home and never been there. It has to take a man trailing class with a dog to go see them. Lol.

 

And now to the give away. 

When I was doing my shopping today. I was amazed to see that Tshibo is selling fabric and sewing gadgets. I saw this sewing kit for a hobo bag and just thought - that is so cute - So I decided to pick it up for the give away.

Darlene's Mystery Step 6 and the winner of the July giveaway

Just got back from my sewing circle. It was such a nice day.

I worked on part 7 from Darlene's Mystery. Hard to belive its the last part

from the mystery. It the biggest quilt I did so far and it will be a challenge to quilt it.

But first I need to finish it. Lol.

 

I had to go to the quilt shop on Saturday to get some more fabric to finish part 6.

Sure did find the right fabric for the last solid border  ( and some more  :-) )

And here is a picture from the finished part 6. Its getting to be a challenge just to take a

Picture of the quilt because its so big.

Last day of July is here

Wow, time fly's when having fun.

 

Not much sewing is going on. I did finish the Batik Jelly Roll top but it still needs to get quilted. So I guess it be a while before I get to post pictures. 

 

I also worked on Darlene's Mystery. The last border needs to be attached. But I don't seem to have the right fabric. If I like the color, I don't have enough fabric. If I have enough fabric , I don't like the color with the the quilt top.

So what to do?  I guess I will have to go shopping. Saturday I will try my luck.

I should have worked on the Mystery last week then I could have picked up some fabric on Sunday.

Sunday I went to the Main Quilt Festival.

We had a great time. They had a Quilt bus line going through the city since they had the show in 3 different places.

One was at the Bürgerhaus( sorry, I  have no idea how to translate that), one at the castle and another with the vendors in the city hall.

Taking pictures was not aloud. But at the Bernina Blog they show pictures of the show. So enjoy.

Hi,
I had a wonderful day with my grandson today. We have beautiful weather and we spend some time at the play ground and went to eat ice creme. Just droped him of at home with his mom and dad.

not much getting done this week. The weather was just to darn nice to spend it behind a sewing machine.
I finished a litte bag as I needed for a gift.

and then, do you remember my Kaleidoscope quilt Im working on when I meet with the girls once a month.
I pieced it together and all it needs now is a border.
I think its to busy and next time I will use a bigger print. But it will be a nice table top.

Give away for the month of June and my Mystery by Darlene, Clue # 5

Can you belive that June is almost gone. A half year already over.

Time is spinning faster and faster.

My Grandson be a year next month. Seems to me like he was just born.

 

Well, I finished my log cabin blocks and attached them to the quilt top.

I love what I see. It looks great. Me thinks, and in time for the next clue for Darlene's Mystery. I caught up, I'm so happy. What you think?

Wow, this week went  by like lighting speed.
I decided to give my sewing room a new color. lol. It was a bright orange and now I did it in a cappuccino color. I really like it. But boy until every thing was out of the room and know I have to get it all back in. lol

The last day of may already

Last day of may already, can you belive it.

The weather here in Germany is more than a little shi...y.

Its been raining and raining and raining. Where is all the water going.

When I walked Lisa this morning my friend said. " the Lord must have a very high water bill" 

I really would be happy with some dry day's, some sunshine would be nice too.

But on the other hand with the rainy days I do not feel so quilty being on the sewing machine.lol

I been working on my mystery from Darlene part 4.

I added just the piano key border like I seen it at Lesley's blog -The Cuddle Quilter - 

And I started on my log cabins :-).

Then my sweet DIL been here.

The last time she was here to sew, she seen a fabric in my stash that she thought would be great for a bag.

So that's what she came up with . She is getting real good. 

She turnes out to be a bigger bag lady than me. Lol

I'm getting real competition here.

So, and know for my give away for the month of may.
